PETALING JAYA: Over 300,000 slots for AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccinations have been snapped up as of 12.56pm, less than a hour after registrations opened to people aged under 60 at 12.15pm on Wednesday (May 26).
"More than 300,000 slots of the second round of the AstraZeneca vaccine booking appointments have been booked. We understand that many are still unable to do so. Please try again shortly," said the Covid-19 Immunisation Taskforce (CITF) in a tweet on its official account.
Slots were opened for registration on Wednesday, and problems emerged when many attempted to register as the site’s technical team worked to update it.
On Twitter, the CITF notified applicants about the delay saying registration would begin at 12.15pm instead of noon on Wednesday (May 26).
However, in the first 15 minutes after noon, the “register now” button appeared and disappeared from the website and some applicants later received a notification telling them they have been blocked from the registration site at www.vaksincovid.gov.my while others received a message to indicate that there were too many requests to access the site.
The site could finally be accessed around 12.20pm and the CITF took to Twitter to apologise for the delay and inconvenience it caused to those who were waiting to register.
