Covid-19: 3,807 new cases, Selangor records highest cases at 1,149

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has recorded 3,807 more Covid-19 cases on Monday (May 10), confirms the Health Ministry.

In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings Malaysia’s cumulative total of infections to 444,484 since the pandemic began.

Selangor remained the state with the highest number of cases with 1,149 new infections.

Sarawak has the second highest figures with 649, followed by Kelantan with 329 cases.

There are five import cases, while the rest are local transmissions.

There are 3,454 people who were discharged on Monday.

This takes the total number of Covid-19 recoveries to 405,388.

There were also 17 more Covid-19 fatalities, taking the country’s death toll up to 1,700.

The number of people in intensive care unit (ICU) beds continued to rise, with the figure currently at 434 compared to 416 the previous day.

There are 224 patients who require ventilator support.
