Negri allows Raya prayers at mosques

SEREMBAN: All mosques and surau in Negri Sembilan are allowed to hold Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayers, subject to the capacity of the prayer hall and as long as physical distancing is maintained, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (pic).

He said surau management would be required to apply to the Islamic religious office in their district for permission.

“Takbir raya (Hari Raya prayers) is allowed in mosques but the size of the congregation depends on the capacity of the prayer room.

“However, house-to-house takbir raya is not allowed and the feast after the Aidilfitri prayer is also not allowed at any mosque or surau, ” he told reporters here yesterday.

Visits to cemeteries are allowed in areas under the recovery movement control order, but with only four people at a grave for 30 minutes at a time. — Bernama
