Dafi ducks danger as motorcyclists ride to missing poodle's rescue

PETALING JAYA: Dafi the poodle will be happily reunited with its owner after going missing for 10 days thanks to a group of motorcyclists who rode to the dog's rescue while it ran through busy traffic in the heart of the city.

In a video that went viral on social media on Monday (April 26), the riders are seen tailing the dog in an attempt to capture it and keep it from being accidentally run over by passing vehicles.

At one point, one of the motorcyclists is seen getting off his machine and running after the dog.

The man lunges for the poodle in an attempt to capture it, only to end up lying flat on the road when the dog evades him.

At least six motorcycles join the convoy in pursuit of the poodle and the chase continues for almost two minutes until one rider manages to grab the dog.

The poodle's owner, Steven Chong, said in a Facebook post that it broke his heart to see his poodle Dafi running aimlessly on the streets and looking scared.

"I really teared up. It has been 10 days since Dafi went missing," he said.

He thanked the motorcyclist, identified only as Siva, for rescuing Dafi.

"Mr Siva has contacted me and is now on his way to bring Dafi home. I will update everyone soon," said Chong.
