Probe into Neelofa's wedding continues after DPP returns investigation paper to cops

KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation into TV host and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor and her husband, preacher PU Riz, is still ongoing, say Dang Wangi police.

District OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the investigation paper (IP) had been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action but it was returned.

"The IP has been sent back to us with a few instructions on actions to be taken.

"We will submit the IP back to the DPP for further action next week," he added.

It was reported last month that the attendees of the celebrity duo's wedding did not follow Covid-19 standard operating procedure and an investigation was underway.

mStar, The Star's Malay language portal, followed up on the matter and learned that the police had taken statements from the newlyweds.

While the wedding itself was news as Neelofa, 32, had been tight-lipped about her relationship with the 25-year-old preacher, it became bigger news when photos of the wedding ceremony, which allegedly showed a lack of adherence to SOP at the venue, went viral on social media.
