Zulkifli arrives in Madinah for working visit

MADINAH (Bernama): Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri arrived in Madinah on Sunday (April 11) for a working visit to Saudi Arabia on the invitation of the Muslim World League (MWL).

Zulkifli, who arrived from Riyadh, is expected to hold a meeting with the Governor of Madinah Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the invitation of the palace.

He will also attend a meet-and-greet session with Malaysian students at the Islamic University of Madinah before heading to Makkah.

In Makkah, Zulkifli will hold talks with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance, Shaikh Abdullatif Abdulaziz Aal Al Shaikh and Minister of Haj and Umrah, Dr Issam bin Saad bin Saeed.

The visit, which started last Friday and will end on April 18, aims to strengthen cooperation in Islamic affairs as well as in haj and umrah matters following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a result of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's visit last month.

Earlier, Zulkifli held a meeting with MWL secretary-general Dr Mohammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa to continue cooperation on Islamic affairs and exchange of expertise in addressing the threats of extremism and terrorism. -Bernama
