Covid-19: 1,671 new cases reported, four fatalities bring death toll to 1,229

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,671 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (March 20), says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country also reported four new Covid-19 fatalities, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,229.

He added that of the 1,671 new cases, two were imported while the rest were local transmissions.

There were 1,585 patients who recovered and were discharged, which means the total number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the country is 316,042.

Active cases in the country now stand at 14,442.

In total, Malaysia has recorded 331,713 Covid-19 cases.

Currently, 151 people are being treated at intensive care units, with 64 of them requiring ventilator support.
