Video of lorry reversing into several vehicles goes viral

KUALA LANGAT: A video of a lorry reversing into several vehicles has gone viral on social media and WhatsApp.

The 20-second-long video shows the lorry backing into a small car causing it to land in a ditch.

A person can be seen jumping over the divider to avoid getting hit and the lorry also hits a motorcyclist.

A man can be seen chasing after the lorry and hitting it with an object.

The lorry then swerves and hits a petrol station signboard and almost flips over.

Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Azman Shariat said the incident occurred around 5.50pm on Tuesday (March 9) along Jalan Perak Kanan, Kampung Bukit Changgang.

"The lorry initially hit a motorcycle while it was trying to make a left turn there.

"The lorry was then surrounded by a group of villagers.

"The lorry driver then reversed into a Perodua Kancil and another motorcycle," he said adding that the lorry driver suffered injuries to his face, back, hands and legs and after being beaten up by the angry mob.

He said the driver has been identified as Ang Thiam Keong, 53 and is receiving medical treatment at the Banting Hospital.

"The 21-year-old motorcyclist who was involved in the initial collision suffered a broken hand and injuries to his legs and was admitted to the same hospital.

"The driver of the Perodua Kancil and the rider of the other motorcycle escaped unharmed," he said adding that police have identified witnesses to assist with investigations.

He said the area did not have any CCTV.

Those with information on the case are urged to contact police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or head to the nearest police station.
