KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 442 individuals were nabbed for violating the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Saturday (March 6).
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said compounds were issued to 430 individuals, 11 were remanded while one was issued bail.
"Activities at entertainment outlets top the list of offence with 144 individuals involved.
"Among other offences were not maintaining physical distancing (88), failure to prepare tools to record details of customers (80) and not wearing face masks (71)," he said in a statement on Sunday (March 7).
On Ops Benteng, 102 undocumented immigrants were detained and four land vehicles were seized on Saturday (March 6), he said.
"Authorities conducted 447 roadblocks nationwide," he said.
On public sanitisation operations, Ismail Sabri said 18,123 operations have been conducted nationwide encompassing 146 zones since March 30.
"Various locations have been sanitised including business centres, housing areas and supermarkets," he said.
Meanwhile on mandatory quarantine, Ismai Sabri said 138,771 individuals have returned to Malaysia since July 24 last year.
"A total of 7,539 individuals are still undergoing quarantine, while 130,338 others have been discharged.
"A total of 894 were sent to hospitals for treatment," he added.
