EMCO in two areas in Sibu to be lifted on March 4


PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order placed on two localities in Sibu, Sarawak, will be lifted on March 4.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that to date, health authorities had screened 6,818 individuals at Town Villa and Sibujaya flats.

Cumulatively, 277 people in both localities had tested positive for Covid-19.

He said infectivity rates at both places are showing a downward trend.

“The government has decided to end the enhanced MCO placed on Town Villa and Sibujaya flats on March 4 as scheduled.

“However, the enhanced MCO will remain in force at Blocks C, H, K, L, N and R of Sibujaya flats until March 12, ” he said.
