HONG Kong veteran actor Ng Man Tat’s Malaysian wife and children were with him when he breathed his last, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Hou Shan Yan, from Segamat, Johor, and her son and daughter were seen leaving the Union Hospital in Hong Kong after the 70-year-old died of liver cancer on Saturday.
Hou, the second runner-up of a beauty pageant in Malaysia decades ago, is Ng’s wife in his third marriage. They have an 18-year-old son, who is said to be an aspiring artiste, and a daughter aged 25.
The son appeared to be in grief with a box of tissues in hand as he emerged from the hospital lift, followed by his sister and mother.
They were whisked away to the car park without answering questions from the media and left in a minivan.
Ng reportedly courted Hou in 1993 during his first marriage. They held a wedding reception after Hou gave birth to their first child but on the day of the wedding, Ng pulled off a stunner by not showing up at the event.
Hou and their children are residing in Johor Baru, with Ng visiting them occasionally in between his busy acting schedule.
They are reported to be a close-knit family.
Ng has three other children from his previous marriages.
> China Press reported that social media continued to be abuzz with news of the 28th birthday party of Malaysia’s Internet sensation Yifeis, which was attended by more than 12 people.
Other Instagram models and content creators such as Apple Tan, Yumi Wong, Moon and Stella Chen appeared in photos posted on Yifeis’ Instagram account on Feb 25.
Many netizens questioned whether the party was allowed during the Covid-19 movement control order period.
In the photos, those present at the party at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur are seen not wearing face masks or observing physical distancing.
Chen was even singled out by netizens for not adhering to the standard operating procedure as she is said to have recently recovered from Covid-19.
In a video message to her 757,000 followers last month, Chen had advised them to follow the rules, not party, and be law-abiding citizens.
