KITES are flying in the skies of Arau, Perlis, as villagers and children take advantage of the good weather and strong winds, Utusan Malaysia reported.
Padi fields are empty after the harvest and they have become the launchpad for kites.
Villager Norsham Khamis, 36, from Kampung Lama in Guar Sanji said this was the best season to fly kites.
“Sunny skies and a windy environment, especially in the evening, is like a ‘fest’ for villagers and their kids; it is the most awaited time of the year, ” he said.
Norsham added that kites could easily be bought from any store for under RM10, depending on the size and type.
Mohd Adha Nor Irwan, 12, said he would eagerly await the season every year and would grab the chance to fly kites with his family.

Syahmi, 26, said it was a gesture of appreciation to the two who were heavily involved in his productions.

In just one month, Syafie has successfully harvested chillies, ladies’ fingers, chives, tomatoes and water spinach.
“Acting is still my main source of income but I do not know when outdoor filming can restart following the MCO, ” he added.
