Seven vehicles destroyed in suspected arson in Pantai Dalam

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven vehicles parked at a People's Housing Project (PPR) in Pantai Dalam here were razed in a fire believed to be an act of arson.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said the Fire and Rescue Department's forensic team had discovered a bottle with petrol smell and traces of the fuel that had been thrown at one of the burnt vehicles.

"Traces of petrol were discovered in front of a black Perodua Myvi and red van. We believe it was the cause of the fire.

"Five specimens at the site were collected and have been sent to the lab for analysis," he said when contacted on Thursday (Feb 18).

In the Wednesday (Feb 17) afternoon incident, several cars, including two Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Vios at the PPR Pantai Ria's parking lot, were burnt.
