Village in Kuching under EMCO until March 2

PETALING JAYA: Kg Sungai Maong in Kuching, Sarawak, will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Wednesday (Feb 17) until March 2, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister (Security) said this follows a spike in Covid-19 cases in the locality, with the lockdown to affect 700 residents.

He said the Health Ministry had detected 13 cases in the vicinity from Feb 12 to 15 and the purpose of the EMCO was to break the chain of infections in the community.

Ismail Sabri also said that the EMCO at the TNB Kuala Berang construction quarters, Felda Tersat in Kuala Berang, Terengganu; Felda Lasah and Kampung Besi Api in Kuala Kangsar, Perak; as well as the Bentong Prison will end on Wednesday.
