Covid-19: Several areas in Bandar Muadzam Shah in Rompin under EMCO from Feb 9-22

PUTRAJAYA: Several housing areas in Bandar Muadzam Shah in Rompin, Pahang will be placed under the enhanced movement control order beginning Feb 9 after Covid-19 cases were detected there.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said cases were reported in Desa Bidara, Desa Keranji, Taman Redan Perdana, Desa Teratai, Desa Melor, Desa Mawar 1 and 2, Desa Jati, Desa Anggerik and Desa Kenanga.

Health authorities also reported cases in these localities: Desa Tanjung, Desa Dahlia 1 and 2, Desa Cempaka, Desa Alamanda, Pinggir Pelangi and Desa Semarak.

Ismail Sabri said that to date, 13 positive cases were recorded under the Hikmah cluster that involved the Al-Muadzam Shah mosque.

“The Health Ministry also confirmed that there is a spike in the number of cases in these localities where 13 cases were reported in a span of 10 days.

“Following a risk assessment by the ministry, the government has agreed to enforce the enhanced MCO until Feb 22, ” he said in a statement on Monday (Feb 8).

Ismail Sabri said the order will not involve the satellite town, adding that the enhanced MCO will involve 9,805 residents from 2,178 houses.
