NSC meeting today is to fine-tune MCO post-Feb 4, says source

PETALING JAYA: The National Security Council (NSC) through its daily meetings has "more or less decided the best decision in balancing lives and livelihoods", says a source.

"The NSC would most likely be confirming today whether to extend or lift the current movement control order (MCO) imposed nationwide.

"Today, we will be fine-tuning and discussing further on what exactly we would say in our official announcement to the public so as to prepare the people post-Feb 4.

"It is not decided yet when we will make the announcement but the people may rest assured that it would be in their best interests.

"The priorities remain saving lives and keeping livelihoods," said the source, urging people to stay calm and not speculate unnecessarily.

The current MCO, imposed on Jan 13, ends on Feb 4.

The NSC, comprising top government officials and ministers, started its routine daily meeting at 11am on Tuesday (Feb 2).
