Johor MB confirms his pol-sec has Covid-19

JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad has confirmed his political secretary Datuk Zulkurnain Kamisan is positive for Covid-19.

Hasni said he and all of his staff at the Mentri Besar's office in Kota Iskandar here have gone through Covid-19 tests.

"The procedures do not exempt me or anyone else and we should adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) and those who have had close contact should be tested.

"My staff and I took the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test recently and we are all following the SOP," he said during a virtual press conference here on Sunday (Jan 31).

On Saturday (Jan 30), the Johor Mentri Besar's office announced it would be temporarily closed from until Feb 2 following a Covid-19 case.

In a statement, it said the closure was to facilitate cleaning and sanitisation works to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Following the temporary closure, all appointments are postponed to a later date. Those who have important affairs with the office should contact the relevant officers pertaining to their matter.
