Seremban, Port Dickson to be under MCO from Jan 19-Feb 1

PUTRAJAYA: Seremban and Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan will be placed under the movement control order beginning Jan 19, following an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases reported in the two districts.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the Health Ministry has confirmed that infectivity rate in the two localities is very high and there has been a spike in cases over the past 14 days.

He said seven out of nine sub-districts in Seremban are red zones, with the number of cases reported numbering between 56 and 283.

“On the advice of the Health Ministry, the National Security Council's special meeting has agreed to place Seremban and Port Dickson under MCO for 14 days from Jan 19 to Feb 1.

“The enforcement of MCO will help prevent the spreading of Covid-19 in the community and to control movement in the two districts,” he said on Monday (Jan 18).
