A MAN was nabbed shortly after he broke into a house to steal items such as a doormat, dishwashing liquid and rubbish bin, besides electrical goods.
The arrest was made following a police report lodged by a retired staff of the Marine Park Department, Kosmo! Ahad reported.
His daughter Munirah Zolkapeli, 35, said her father got a phone call from a relative about a stranger in his house in Port Dickson.
“That person told our relative that he was delivering a fan, ” she said.
But the relative felt something was amiss and immediately contacted Munirah’s father.
Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said the 32-year-old suspect was arrested within 24 hours on Saturday.
> The daily also reported that ancient artefacts worth millions of ringgit that were found in a shipwreck off Pulau Tioman have been stolen.
These included Chinese ceramic celadon, Pahang state museum director Datuk Ahmad Farid Abd Jalal said.
According to him, Pulau Tioman was known as a major trade route for ships, including vessels from as far as China, back in the
Song dynasty.
“Based on our investigation, those priceless items are no longer there. For centuries, celadon wares were highly regarded by the Chinese Imperial Court.
“They are of high quality and can last for a long period of time even in salt water. That is why they are so expensive.
“They are normally sold to antique collectors, ” he said.
