Jeffrey Kitingan tests positive for Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan has contracted Covid-19.

Jeffrey's political secretary Arlinsia Agang said that he is currently undergoing treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

"His condition is stable," she said in a statement on Monday (Jan 4).

"He is feeling fine and he calls for calm and prays that Sabah will be free from Covid-19," Arlinsia added.

Arlinsia said that Dr Jeffrey underwent Covid-19 test on Sunday (Jan 3) and was subsequently admitted to hospital on Monday.

She said that Dr Jeffrey, who is state Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, will still carry out his Cabinet responsibilities through video conferences, emails and other means with his officers.

However, the statement did not say where the Sabah STAR president could have contracted the virus or his movements over the past week.
