Covid-19: Five new clusters identified, three end Saturday (Dec 19)


PETALING JAYA: Five new Covid-19 clusters were identified on Saturday (Dec 19) while three clusters have ended, says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that there are currently 199 active clusters in the country, with 41 clusters reporting new cases on Saturday.

“The clusters with the highest recorded increases are the Jalan Stadium construction site cluster (167 cases), Jalan Harapan prison cluster (96 cases) and Tembok cluster (80 cases), ” he said in a statement Saturday (Dec 19).

The Jalan Zuhrah construction site cluster involves the Petaling district in Selangor, and was detected through a workplace screening at a construction site.

As at Dec 19,49 cases have tested positive from this cluster.

The Keris Residence cluster involves the Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran districts in Sabah, and was detected when the index case went for an individual screening.

As at Dec 19,41 cases have tested positive from this cluster.

The Jalan Timah cluster in the Johor Baru and Kulai districts in Johor, meanwhile, was detected when the index case went for an individual screening.

As at Dec 19,26 cases have tested positive from this cluster.

The Brumas cluster involves the Kalabakan district in Sabah, and was detected when the index case went for an individual screening.

As at Dec 19,16 cases have tested positive from this cluster.

The Long Panji cluster involves the Kota Baru and Machang districts in Kelantan, and was detected when the index case went for an individual screening.

As at Dec 19,11 cases have tested positive from this cluster.
