EMCO for Seremban Prison extended until Dec 21, says Ismail Sabri

PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order for the Seremban Prison and staff quarters has been extended till Dec 21, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the order has been extended, as health authorities are still waiting for 185 Covid-18 screening samples results.

As of Dec 4,1, 582 tests had been carried out, with 964 Covid-19 positive cases recorded in the prison involving both detainees and staff.

“Following the advice from the health ministry, the government has agreed to extend the enhanced MCO for another 14 days until Dec 21, ” he said.

On Nov 23, Ismail Sabri had announced the enforcement of the order on the locality, following positive cases being reported there.

The enhanced MCO involves 2,080 people in the prison staff quarters.
