Mother of Tengku Temenggong Kelantan dies

KOTA BARU (Bernama): Tengku Merjan Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra, the mother of Tengku Temenggong Kelantan, has died of old age.

The Sultan of Kelantan Office confirmed Tengku Merjan breathed her last at 2.18am at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital here Thursday (Oct 15).

Tengku Merjan, the mother of Tengku Tan Sri Mohamad Rizam Tengku Abdul Aziz was the first child of the late Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Yahya Petra.

Her remains have been taken to Istana Balai Besar before being laid to rest at Langgar Royal Mausoleum.

She is survived by three sons and a daughter.

Tengku Merjan’s husband Tengku Abdul Aziz Tengku Mohd Hamzah died on Sept 20. – Bernama
