Woman’s body found in suitcase in Sibu

SIBU: The discovery of the body of a woman, stuffed in a suitcase, at the roadside of Jalan Aman here has shocked the town.

District police chief Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the gruesome find was made at 6.45am yesterday when a passerby informed the police of the suspicious-looking suitcase.

He said the deceased, identified as Heng Meow Lin, 37, was wearing a round neck grey T-shirt and a polka-dot dark blue long pants.

Items found with her included two handwritten notes in Chinese and one of them had an identity card number with a state code of 08 which belongs to Perak.

ACP Stanley said there was no identification document found on her.

“The body was found partially stuffed inside the bag. We believed the woman could have died at some other place and her body was dumped here.

“There was no sign of injury on her body,” he said, adding that the body had been sent to Sibu Hospital for post mortem.

He said two individuals, a man and a woman, have been arrested from a house in Jalan Tong Sang in connection with the case.
