Keyed in to better home financing

Maybank Islamic’s HouzKEY lets buyers own a home without a downpayment

LAST year, the government had taken steps to boost the property market, in order to attract more buyers, in the form of numerous interest rate cuts and government incentives to spark off buying interest

And although the pandemic had caused major disruptions to businesses in general, it must have convinced many Malaysians who still do not own homes of the importance of having one.

With the recovery movement control order announced, key businesses have begun operations, and recently in an Aug 7 article, developers are beginning to see an upsurge in interest and sales, especially from younger buyers.

And if they are first-time property buyers, they would probably need a helping hand in financing their dream home.

One special plan that can cover them, with zero down payments and low monthly payment, is Maybank Islamic’s HouzKEY programme.

Housing plan for the times

First launched in 2017, HouzKEY is a homeownership financing solution by Maybank Islamic to assist first and second home Malaysian buyers in owning their dream home.

It gives people greater flexibility and cash flow efficiency, as it is designed to assist would-be homeowners in financing, which they may not be able to afford due to the high initial cost.

Homeowners would typically sign on with Maybank Islamic’s HouzKEY via several developers who have signed up with the bank.

Currently it has 21 reputable property developers that have signed up with it and the properties listed include new launches and completed properties, spread all around the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang.

With this plan, prospective homeowners can get a 100% financing as they sign with Maybank Islamic with no down payment required – they only need to provide a three-month refundable deposit. It also offers a low monthly payment plan.

If the property the customer has chosen is still under construction, there will be no payment during the construction period – Maybank Islamic will assist in financing the cost during this period.

HouzKEY is open to Malaysian citizens aged between 18–70 years old at the point of application. Applicants should not be financing more than one home when applying and they can include up to three guarantors to improve their success rate on their application.

Currently, in conjunction with its third anniversary, HouzKEY is celebrating the occasion with special deals.

Throughout the month of October, customers who sign up for HouzKEY can enjoy RM3,999 e-wallet top up and special packages such as furnishing and fittings, and more.
