Nigerian arrested for allegedly assaulting restaurant owner, lorry driver

KUALA LUMPUR: A Nigerian man was detained for allegedly assaulting a restaurant owner and a lorry driver at a restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

The suspect, who is believed to have been intoxicated, allegedly assaulted the female restaurant owner by hitting her on the back and front of her body.

He also allegedly hit a lorry driver who was in the midst of unloading items from his vehicle at a shop next door to the restaurant at about 3.30pm on Monday (Sept 28).

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the suspect also destroyed items at the restaurant and caused a ruckus.

"We managed to detain the suspect. We are investigating the matter further," he said when contacted on Monday.

ACP Mohd Zaid urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Insp Salena at 017-6424007 or any nearest police station.
