KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali is expected to record his statement on breaching Covid-19 quarantine rules on Wednesday (Aug 26) night.
According to Bukit Aman Federal Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Deputy Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, police will take down the Plantations and Commodities Minister's statement at the Parliament building here.
"Officers will be waiting for him there," he said.
Khairuddin is being investigated for flouting home quarantine rules after returning from Turkey on July 7.
On Sunday (Aug 23), Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said an investigation paper had been opened to investigate the case.
It was reported that 27 reports had been launched over the matter.
The Health Ministry said Khairuddin had been slapped with a RM1,000 compound for breaking the rules on Aug 7, which he has paid.
Khairuddin also apologised for breaching his home quarantine rules and pledged four months of his salary as Minister to the Covid-19 fund.
Umno supreme council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi had also called for Khairuddin to be charged in court for the offence so as not to give the impression that ministers are treated differently from civilians.
Khairuddin was thrown in the spotlight after Seputeh MP Teresa Kok questioned why he had not been placed under home quarantine when he returned from Turkey.
