SEPANG: The Inspector-General of Police has confirmed that a section of the Sentul police station was ordered to close by the Health Ministry.
Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said initial information revealed that only the traffic counter was ordered to close while the station's other operations were running as normal.
"I was told that the incident occurred after an individual wearing a pink tag went to the police station to report that he was harassed by members of the public.
"The police personnel on duty discovered that the individual was coughing and reported the matter to the nearest hospital," he told reporters after attending the Ops Bersepadu Khazanah (OBK) on Wednesday (Aug 19).
Hamid said the Health Ministry then asked the area to be closed.
"Further information will be divulged by the ministry later today," he said.
Earlier, a photo showing the police station being temporarily closed after an order by the Health Ministry went viral on social media.
