Some 3,000 prisoners eligible for conditional release from September


KUALA LUMPUR: Some 3,000 prisoners sentenced to less than a year of imprisonment will be eligible for conditional release next month, says Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Mohamed Said.

"Following the amendments to the Prisons Regulations 2000, the Licensed Release of Prisoners Programme is expected to be implemented soon.
