Seven of the local cases were from the Tawar cluster, while two were related to the Sala cluster, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) in a statement.
One of the local cases is related to a screening-of-symptoms case which was recorded in Sungai Buloh Hospital.
Of the two import cases, both are non-Malaysians who were infected abroad in Syria and Philippines.
Cumulatively, the country has now recorded a total of 9,212 infections.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 17 more cases had been discharged, which means 8,876 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.
This translates to a recovery rate of 96.4% out of the total number of cases in the country.
The number of active cases is now 211 cases.
Currently, there are eight people being treated in intensive care units (ICU), of which two patients are on ventilator support.
Dr Noor Hisham said there were no new deaths, which means the death toll remains at 125 cases.
