Cops issue RM310k worth of compounds in three Mutiara Damansara entertainment outlets

PETALING JAYA: The police issued RM310,000's worth of compounds after raiding three entertainment outlets on Jalan PJU 7/3, Mutiara Damansara here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said police raided the premises between 11pm (Friday) and 5am (Saturday).

"A team of 10 officers and 19 personnel were involved in the operations.

"We first arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of employing foreigners without proper permits, as well as 10 foreigners, aged between 25 and 30, for working there illegally.

"When we raided the outlets, we also found 310 people there," he said in a statement on Saturday (July 25).

He said the 310 included 110 women, aged between 20 and 30.

"The 310 were found to have violated Rule 11(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.

"All of them were issued RM1,000 compounds for committing the offence," he said, adding that police also seized an amplifier, microphone, television, loudspeaker, as well as RM9,350 in cash.

ACP Nik Ezanee said his personnel would begin arresting those who did not comply with the terms of the recovery movement control order (MCO).

"This was the highest number of compounds we issued in a single night. We mean business and will not hesitate to uphold the law," he said.

Meanwhile, in another matter, ACP Nik Ezanee said his personnel arrested two men, aged 23 and 59, following two raids along Jalan SS2/60 and in Amcorp Mall for employing foreigners without proper permits.

"The raids were conducted at around 6.30pm and 10.30pm on Friday.

"We also arrested five foreign men aged between 23 and 27 in these raids, as they did not have proper documentation," he said, adding that the case was investigated under Section 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 and Section 55B of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
