Covid-19: Four new cases, bringing total to 8,729, no new deaths


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded four new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (July 14), bringing the total number of infections to 8,729 cases.

All four cases were imported cases – three involving Malaysians and one foreigner, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic).

Dr Noor Hisham also said that four patients recovered in the last 24 hours, with a total of 8,524 patients discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began, bringing the recovery rate to 97.7%.

"There are currently 83 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities.

"Six patients are being treated at the intensive care units (ICU), with two of them on ventilator support," he said.

He added that there were no additional deaths from Covid-19, with the death toll remaining at 122, or 1.4% of all cases.
