No polio cases detected in Labuan, says Health DG


KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): No polio cases have been detected in the Federal Territory of Labuan thus far based on the Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) surveillance and random screenings involving 41 healthy children aged five and below, says Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic).

The Health director-general said following the detection of poliovirus in the sewage sample collected from the locality, the Health Ministry (MOH) through the Labuan health department conducted a polio immunisation campaign to prevent infection among the residents.
