Ipoh family puts call out for missing dad

IPOH: There was no Father’s Day celebration at Loo Sing’s house after he went missing for nearly three days now.

His daughter Loo Kam Lan, 54, lodged a police report after her 77-year-old father did not return home on June 21.

“We first noticed he was missing at 4am. But around that time, he would usually go out for an early breakfast and return home shortly.

“With no sign of his return, we decided to look for him. We went to his usual coffeeshop but he was not there.

“He did not bring his phone so we could not call him, ” she told a press conference organised by Simpang Pulai assemblyman Tan Kar Hing at his service centre here Tuesday (June 23).

The family has also resorted to social media for help.

“We have used multiple social media platforms to share the news.

“Over the past three days, we have received information, such as people seeing him at Buntong and Silibin. However, upon checking, he was still nowhere to be found, ” said Kam Lan.

Loo was last seen wearing a blue chequered shirt with long black pants. He was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle.

Tan urged the public to be alert and to contact the family should they have any information.

“Since the report was lodged, I have made contact with the Gunung Rapat police station for updates.

“The family also informed me that they received some false information saying that Loo Sing is in Cheras and several areas that are way far from his home.

“He has several chronic diseases such as high blood pressure. Before leaving the house, he did not bring his medicine, ” he said.

Readers who have any information regarding the missing man may contact the family at 012 2759 817 or 017 668 7136.
