PUTRAJAYA: All organisations, including political parties, sports bodies and corporations, will be allowed to hold their annual general meeting (AGM) from July 1, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
With the decision, bodies registered under the Registrar of Societies (ROS), Companies Commission of Malaysia, Cooperatives Commission Malaysia and Sports Commission can plan for their AGM.
“The special Cabinet meeting decided to allow this, provided the standard operating procedure (SOP) is followed strictly, ” he said on Monday (June 22).
This includes ensuring that attendance at AGMs does not exceed 250 people and social distancing is practised.
Ismail Sabri said attendees have to download the MySejahtera application, wear face masks and hand sanitisers must be provided at the meeting.
He said that the ROS had come up with the SOP, which can also be used by other organisations for AGMs.
Authorities, including the ROS had issued a directive to bodies to postpone activities including meetings and AGMs during the movement control order until June 30.
