MCO: NSC to make wedding decision tomorrow (June 23)

PUTRAJAYA: The National Security Council will decide on Tuesday (June 23) whether wedding receptions, which usually involve large crowds, can be allowed during the recovery movement control order (MCO), says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

He said there have been applications from those involved in helping to organise weddings for the government to allow such events to be held.

“There was a proposal tabled on this matter, but we need to discuss this in detail.

“We will do so at the National Security Council meeting tomorrow (June 23) and I will announce the decision on Wednesday,” he said in his regular briefing here Monday (June 22).

Ismail said the meeting would not just discuss standard operating procedures should wedding receptions be allowed, but also need to look at the appropriate number of people allowed to attend such events.
