Pahang now allows kids, senior citizens to dine in

KUANTAN: Children aged 12 and below and senior citizens above 60 are now allowed to dine in at eateries in Pahang, including at highway rest stop facilities.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the restriction had been lifted for restaurants, food courts, hawker centres, roofed roadside food stalls, kiosks and food trucks.

"The state government has also decided to remove the limit on the number of customers allowed to sit at dining tables in restaurants. This permission is effective immediately,” said Wan Rosdy.

He said except for public parks and children's playgrounds, other the rest area facilities on the KL-Karak Highway and East Coast Expressway 1 and 2, such as surau and public toilets, were now open as well.

"This comes after examining the current situation. It is also another step in the reopening of business operations in the state under the recovery movement control order," Wan Rosdy said in a statement on Friday (June 19).

He also advised the public to continue observing the standard operating procedures such as social distancing of at least 1m.
