KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 66 police personnel have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, says Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
The Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director said a total of 1,225 personnel have been quarantined as of April 7.
"Among those quarantined are 155 senior police personnel, 654 rank-and-file as well as 381 family members.
"We are monitoring their development closely," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman on Wednesday (April 8).
On hazards faced by police personnel on the ground during the movement control order, Comm Acryl said he is grateful for the concern showed by the public.
"Incidents such as tents getting blown away are occupational hazards for our men and women on the ground.
"Be it rain or shine, it is normal for the police to go through such challenges but we still appreciate the concern," he said.
