Cops arrest 15 for defying MCO

PETALING JAYA: The police have arrested a total of 15 people in six separate incidences for violating the movement control order (MCO).

According to district OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, arrests were made on March 25 and in the early hours of Thursday (March 26).

Most were arrested when found congregating, while others were picked up when stopped at roadblocks.

In one case, three men, aged between 25 and 33, were apprehended by the police for loitering and congregating in front of an apartment hall in Kampung Lindungan at 11pm on Wednesday (March 25).

In another, three men, aged between 18 and 40, were stopped and arrested after being spotted riding on their motorcycles in Ara Damansara, at around 3.30am.

They did not have any specific reasons for being out.

Five more people, aged between 21 and 28, were also arrested in a playground in Desa Mentari at 4am.

ACP Nik Ezanee said the arrest were made because all were deemed to have gone against the MCO.
