Melaka limits operating hours

MELAKA: The state government has limited the operating hours of restaurants, including drive-throughs.

Chief Minister Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali said restaurants and fast food chains should cease operations from 7pm to 7am effective today.

The directive also applies to 24-hour convenience stores in the state.

Sulaiman said grocery stores in shopping malls should also close at 7pm during the movement control order.

“The Melaka wet market is allowed to operate from 6am to 2pm, ” he said, urging traders to follow the guideline.

However, he said night and agro-based markets must remain closed until March 31.

In a statement, Sulaiman also said that petrol stations should be closed from 8pm to 6am until March 31, except for the fuelling needs of crucial industries.
