Swearing-in ceremony for Perak MB to be held on Friday (March 13)


IPOH: The swearing-in ceremony for the 13th Perak Mentri Besar will be held at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar on Friday (March 13).

In a statement on Thursday (March 12), Perak state secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahman said Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah has given his consent to hold the ceremony.

The ceremony is expected to begin at about 3pm.

It was reported that three names were submitted to Sultan Nazrin Shah on Tuesday (March 10).

Those in the running are state Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, state PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria and state Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad.

Faizal had on Monday (March 9) announced that Perikatan Nasional would be forming the state government after getting the majority support of 32 state assemblymen.

The state Perikatan consists of 25 Umno assemblymen, three from PAS and four from Bersatu.
