Parliament to be dissolved only after we deliver, not now, clarifies Annuar Musa

PETALING JAYA: Newly minted Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa says he never asked for Parliament to be dissolved immediately, as reported by a news portal reported following a tweet by him.

"I tweeted: 'After the damage left by Pakatan Harapan government has been fixed and the Covid-19 epidemic is controlled, we hope the front door would be opened soon with the Parliament dissolved, as what has been asked for from the start by Muafakat Nasional. We will leave it to the people, how far the people wants to gang up with DAP'."

"To fix up the damage done by Pakatan alone would need two or three years. It is not something that can be fixed in two or three months.

"This is mischievous reporting by cropping off the first part of the tweet," said Annuar, the Umno secretary-general.

The portal reported that Annuar had asked for the dissolution of Parliament dissolution a day after he was sworn into the new Cabinet of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Annuar further said the Perikatan Nasional government had to be given a chance to deliver what it promised.

"The people should unite and reject all actions which will affect the harmony and stability of the country.

"Once we deliver what the rakyat deserves, we will go back to the people, in line with the democracy we practise. No more politicking to the point that the people are affected," said Annuar.
