SHAH ALAM: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is no longer part of Selangor's Pakatan Harapan-led government.
State Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor Pakatan had taken note of the political dynamic at Federal level and had informed Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah that Bersatu was no longer part of the state coalition.
"Therefore, the Bersatu leadership and members will be excluded from the exco, local authorities and village chiefs," he told a press conference the Mentri Besar's residence here on Thursday (March 5).
He also said that allocations for the seven assemblymen who have been removed from the Selangor government are now frozen.
He also noted that he had the backing of 43 assemblymen from the 56-member legislative assembly and would remain as the Mentri Besar.
The Selangor government comprises 16 assemblymen from DAP, 19 from PKR and eight from Parti Amanah Negara.
The state Opposition has six assemblymen from Bersatu (including Datuk Seri Azmin Ali), Umno (five), PAS (one) and one independent assemblyman.
