KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is ready to assist the Health Ministry on various matters in connection with the Covid-19 outbreak, says Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.
The Inspector-General of Police said police personnel have been assigned to ensure the safety of quarantine centres and to track down any infected patients.
"We are always ready to assist the ministry," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman Monday (March 2).
While duty comes first, the IGP said the health and safety of its personnel are a priority.
"We have heeded the advice and guidelines given by the authorities.
"Our frontliners have been reminded to maintain good hygiene," he said, adding that they are also subjected to regular health screenings.
Abdul Hamid said he had also requested the ministry for flu shots for police personnel.
"I hope all frontliners will be vigilant and stay healthy," he said.
