PETALING JAYA: The Islamic Development Department (Jakim) will be conducting solat hajat (special prayers) at major mosques under its administration in light of the political uncertainty in Malaysia.
Jakim director-general Datuk Paimuzi Yahya said that solat hajat will be conducted at the National Mosque, Putra Mosque and Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque starting Thursday (Feb 27).
“This is to pray for Allah SWT to provide guidance so that the country’s political situation returns to stability and also for peace and harmony to be enjoyed by the multiracial citizens of this country.
“Jakim is also calling for cooperation for all mosques under the state religious departments and councils to also conduct solat hajat from time to time,” said Paimuzi in a statement.
He also urged Malaysians to act rationally and prioritise peace and national harmony especially in facing any future possibilities amid the political upheaval.
