Crowd building up at PKR headquarters ahead of Anwar PC

PETALING JAYA: A growing crowd has gathered outside the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) headquarters here ahead of a press conference by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) amidst the political turmoil in the last few days.

People were seen parking their cars by the roadside and looking through the anti-climb fence along the perimeter of the shoplots, where the headquarters are located.

Inside the media room, reporters, videographers and photographers were jostling for places as they prepared for a major announcement on Pakatan Harapan.

The press conference, which was supposed to be held at 4.30pm, has been delayed to 5.30pm to make way for interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's televised address at 4.45pm.

At around 3.20pm Wednesday (Feb 26), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged Malaysians to be patient.

He said there would be a major announcement on Pakatan Harapan at PKR’s headquarters. He also said that the issue of the statutory declaration was irrelevant, as the King had already given space to listen to the views of every MP.

This is the Pakatan presidential council statement in full:
