Despatch runner claims trial to spreading Covid-19 rumours


KUALA LUMPUR: A 42-year-old despatch runner has claimed trial at a magistrate's court here to a charge of spreading fake news relating to the Covid-19 coronavirus on his Facebook page.

Shamsul Anuar Mohd Khairi was accused of circulating a false statement aimed at causing public mischief by spreading a rumour that the Covid-19 was in a tourist bus which was used by tourists from China here in Malaysia, and that the virus would be "activated" in extreme hot weather.
