Police arrest Bangladeshi man on New Year's Eve for allegedly trafficking drugs

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have arrested a Bangladeshi man for allegedly trafficking syabu and ketamine.

City Narcotic Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Adnan Azizon said they arrested the 31-year-old suspect during a special operations at an apartment complex on New Year's Eve.

"When we checked the suspect, we found 50.86grams of syabu on him. The suspect then led us to a shoplot nearby where we found 395grams of ketamine," he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 3).

He said a urine test of the suspect also came back positive for syabu.

"The suspect does not have a prior record and has been remanded for 14 days to help with investigations.

"We have classified the case as drug trafficking," he said, adding that the drugs were worth about RM66,879 and could supply at least 840 users.
