No proof to conclude rescued marine mammal, carcass are the same dolphin, says lecturer

UMT Fisheries and Food Sciences senior lecturer Dr Mohd Fazrul Hisam Abd Aziz says there is no proof to conclude that the rescued dolphin (left) and the carcass are the same marine mammal.

KUALA TERENGGANU (Bernama): There is no evidence to conclude that the dolphin carcass beached on Pantai Tanjung Gelam on Saturday (Dec 14) was the same dolphin rescued by seven Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) students two days before, says an expert from the university.

UMT Fisheries and Food Sciences senior lecturer Dr Mohd Fazrul Hisam Abd Aziz said the conclusion should only be confirmed with an autopsy and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests.
