Deaf, mute girl allegedly raped by three teens

KOTA KINABALU: Police arrested three teenagers after an 18-year-old deaf and mute girl claimed they raped her in a hut near her house along Jalan Kalumpang in Semporna.

It was learnt that her father had searched for her at 2am after realising she was missing from home.

The man found his daughter sitting on the ground about 20m away from their house crying.

The girl, using sign language, told her father of the assault on Sunday which prompted the man to check the hut where he saw four boys.

In the police report that was lodged, the girl pointed out three of them to her father.

Semporna OCPD Supt Sabarudin Rahmat confirmed that three teenagers were remanded for seven days to facilitate the investigation.

He said the girl had been sent for a medical examination.
